Runner Profile: Jomar Paras

He's not the usual serious runner. This friend of mine is the only runner I know who prefers the knee length board shorts as his regular Training and Racing outfit. He also prefers taho rather than your usual PowerGel pre-race boost. Needless to say he's one of the fastest runners in the HappyFeet line-up.

Although he seems different in a lot of things, he surely plays and enjoys the same game. Training secretly (god knows where!). Follows a top secret personalized training plan. And discretely ups the tempo when you're racing beside him, just for thrills.

Here's my take on Joms....

Long absence...... Training Restart.......

I haven't had a good run logged for almost 2 weeks. Since after the fuego race, I was swamped with work that I had little or no time at all to grab for a quiet or should I say heartbreaking training run.

Yesterday though I told myself I had enough! I had to run! I was cranky already and I feel that my creative juices are just simply slipping down the drain. Luckily, I didn't have to train alone. I tagged along Rio and the Ellis' recovery session. Whew! Good thing it was a recovery session..... For them recovery for a hard race and training and for me it was a recovery from doing nothing.

I'm hoping for a good restart week easing up on the training to avoid any injury delays again. :)

Hope to see you all on the next race. Prepping up for another 5km fast one on the 13th.

Mizuno Punta Fuego Race 2008

It's been a while..... Been really busy with the other stuff I love to do. Haven't had the pleasure of training properly lately. But this race was just too good to pass.

Luckily I was still able to snag 1st place for the 5km event at a very disappointing finish time (I hope coach doesn't find out about my current finish time)

Notice on one of the shot, I was wearing my trainers (Wave Creation9, yes that same huge thing behind the runners :P) Yes, I raced with my trainers. Reminder to self..... Please do not do this again. Specially now that I have a new pair or racing flats on the way (remember 1st place! hehehehe)

The course was hilly. But the picturesque scenes well made up for the heartbreak moments. :)
I hope to be back in good shape for the next Mizuno Race on the 29th. Hope to see you all there!

RunnerProfile:: Jaymie Pizarro (theBullRunner)

If you don't know who the BullRunner is, then you aren't addicted to running as most of the regular visitors here. Regardless if you are a newbie, comeback runner, super addicted runner, schedule lurker, or plainly just a STALKER I'm sure that you are a contributor to the ever growing visitor hits of the theBullRunner's site.

It seems that my mind isn't working on the text part again. Believe me, I have scratched more than 2 dozens of lines already and so I'll just let my takes do the talking.

And in case the weather doesn't cooperate with her training schedule. This is how she rolls......

Champion Run 2008

Thanks to Rio, again I got another front seat pass on this event. This time I got to see how "VERTEK" roll. It's way pass my bedtime already and I still have another shoot early tomorrow morning. But I just couldn't let this night to pass without uploading this.....

This is just around 2.3km, he's already a good 100m away from the chase pack.
I can't wait to upload the next couple of frames from the race. Please check back tomorrow. Goodnight for now. :)

Boston 2008

This is the oldest Marathon distance footrace. And it's safe to say that every runner dreams of participating in this race. Just to be able to qualify for the race is already a feat on it's own. For my age category I need a IAFF certified Marathon Race finish of no more than 3:10:59. :(

Anyway here's a video I found in YouTube for the women's finish. Another great racing moment. Great Last Kick and Mental toughness for both athletes.

This time it was Russian vs Ethiopian race.

RunnerProfile:: Rio Dela Cruz

A young entrepreneur Rio Dela Cruz is now a part of the select few people who can organize a kick@ss footrace in the metro. Handling personal coaching duties, Coaching the UP track team, a new line of running apparel business, and organizing races is a hefty responsibility. But not for Rio, his schedule keeps him busy as a worker bee.

I've known him for over a year now and that signature afro look and speedy running is really hard to forget. After a couple of races Mon and I tried to look for a uniform supplier. We got Rio to do our uniforms and the rest is history.

Don't forget to visit his brand spankin new website RUNRIO

I won't keep you waiting, here's my take on Rio.
